Does this build look successful?

You have no ssd.

Coolers usually come with thermal paste. Id be surprised if the Be quiet doesn't come with it. If it does, it would be good as or better than the arctic.
It seems you like coloured fans but for that price id be checking out Noctua A12x25 for performance VS a light show.
You need wifi , there may be some boards that have it as a feature that arent more than the combined price. They usually far more effective than an add in.

Didn't think I would need a ssd so soon but I guess also I pick those fans because I can put different angles for better circulation not because of lights. Just need to know if everything would work together properly not throw this much money at something that's going to be a POS

So soon? its almost been a decade. SSD for o/s & programs, media storage for HDD.
check price for 3 of those noctuas. it seems youre paying for the light show, or if you need them at all.
again check for mobos that have wifi if similar price combined.

This i7-8700 and GTX1080 combo is around 60% more powerful than R5 1500X and GTX1060 combo which is a huge gain.
With this G-Sync monitor you can have smooth gameplay.
All are high quality components.
Case comes with 2 fans included 1 for intake and 1 for exhaust. It will be sufficient.
This build is focused to get maximum performance out of your budget instead of making it look good.

I changed the fans and I added an SSD I think everything looks okay now just wondering does everything just pop together and screw into places properly or would I need to do any electrical work or buy extra wires for things?

You need a better GPU. Thats the weak link.
Youve got a lot of gear that you dont necessarily need. e.g. you dont need an 8700k, you dont need a z mobo. UPS etc., i already mentioned the thermal paste.
This system will drop frames.
The much cheaper system above with the 1080 wont.

I should say that theres some games that will drop frames below 144hz, even with the 1080.
If youve got cash and want 144hz consider the 1080ti. (you can lower the Hz to 120 or lower if you want)
In short, consider the 8700 system above but with the 1080ti
