I'm in the process of gathering parts for a new build. MB is Asus Rog Strix B650-A with CPU Ryzen 9800X3D.

This Kingbank 48GB DDR5-6800 set is $116 on Amazon, which was in the sales price range for a lot of quality DDR5-6000 32GB sets (with others down to $90 or even less in exchange for worse timings). This RAM doesn't appear in the motherboard's QVL list and its speed is excessive. But high-speed DDR5 in 48GB for 32GB prices is tantalizing. Should I return the DDR5-6000 RAM I've received and buy this?

The reason why it might be priced like that is due to the fact that it's not a well known brand. You could give it a shot, just make sure you're on the latest BIOS version for your motherboard and the rams are on slots A2 and B2. The sweet spot for AM5 platforms is DDR5-6000MHz, mind you, with tight latencies.

You also mentioned one more thing;
which was in the sales price range for a lot of quality DDR5-6000 32GB sets
You're paying for a brands reputation and their binning process. Lesser known brands will have laxed quality control and perhaps non-existent customer support.

If anything goes sideways, you have the return window on Amazon.
