Does this cpu and gpu max every game at 1080p?

Im looking to get a fx 8350 and a r9 390 would these let me max every game at 1080p?

Nope.

First of all, I highly recommend an INTEL setup using an i5-4690K or similar.

As for the video card, I recommend a GTX970 instead. The R9-390 may have 8GB mainly for "future proofing" but the GTX970 has many benefits:

- overclocks higher (stock R9-390 is pretty much maxed)
- DX12_1 vs DX12_0
- PhysX
- MFAA (boosts supported games a bit)
- HUD optimizations
- H.265 (unless that's added to R9-390?)
- HDMI 2 (4K@60Hz)
- voxel lighting support (future games)
- less HEAT output (makes a HUGE difference in small rooms)

No, that's just wrong.

Crysis 3 for example is under 50FPS at not fully maxed settings assuming no CPU bottleneck (which any AMD CPU will do in most games). With a GPU this good it goes over 40% vs a good Intel for some games.

I can find examples with max settings at 1080p with the FX-8350 and R9-390 that are about 30FPS. Not saying MOST GAME aren't good, or any game can't run fine if you drop a few settings but simply saying you can "max every game" is not true.

Older game, but just an example and there's LOTS of games again that you're losing performance by going AMD.

There's a better CPU bottleneck example. Basically about 27% higher performance using a newer quad-core INTEL (84FPS vs 66FPS).

Yeah im thinking of getting an intel i5 4690k with a gtx 970 and also im building this at the end of the month and i might get another gtx 970 for christmas will this be a great gaming machine and what wattage psu do you think i would need for this build (2x 970 sli)
