Does this look like SATA II HDD results?

This is an HDD WD5000BPKT 7200. Here are my crystal diskmark

Looks like the HDD. You can't tell sata 2 or 3. The HDD won't go as fast as sata 2 can go. But HDDs usually run at about 100MB/s

Okay, I should have been more specific. I mean does it look like it's running on SATA II as opposed to SATA I? Regards.

sata 1 is 1.5gb/s = 180MB/s - still faster than a HDD

Crap. So how do I determine if I'm SATA II capable :|. I have some HWINFO results, but they're giving conflicting info (PCI BUS 3.0 capable, HD 3.0 capable. But getting 3.0 @ 1.5 in detailed results)

What mobo make and model? The specs will say.

This is Asus K42JV (2010). HM55. It's SATA II capable, as is the drive. HWINFO is sending conflicting results though.

Martin is taking a look at debug info now. I just don't want to invest in SSD if my system will have a problem with SATA II. The results show Gen 2 for HD and BUS, but then under detailed info shows it running 3.0@1.5. (see pics)

You shouldn't use SSDs unless you're running sata3 (6 Gb/s = 750MB/s) ports. SSDs run at 500MB/s.

Nonesense you can still benefit from a ssd on a data 2 computer it will still boiat atartuptines by a considerable amount just won't get the full speed of it

It'll still be faster than a HDD granted. But it won't run at full speed.

Thank you for this link. It *looks like* the solution, if the problem crops up, is to reboot and eventually the drive will be detected. But can happen from soft off or mechanical off, so could happen often.

I'm somewhat of a risk taker by nature, but I'm seeing that the drive I'm considering (Kingston V300), people are having issues with it performing well on SATA II.
