I am watching CPUz right now and I have my Q6600 overclocked. It is set @ 8x450FSB, and therefor it runs at 3.6GHz... However, if I keep an eye on CPUz, it will drop down to 6x450 and read 2.7GHz... It fluctuates...

Is that normal?

No it does'nt make "[strike]Since[/strike]", it does makes Sense.
Thermaltake Armor Series Case - ASUS P5K Delux Wi-Fi Motherboard - Intel Q6600 2x4MB Cache 2.4GHz....@ 3.46GHz - 2GB G.Skill PC-6400@1155MHz 5-5-5-15 - EVGA GeForce 8800GTX - 2x 150GB Western Digital Raptor X (RAID-0) - Lite-on 20x DVD-R/RW w/ Litescribe
Such an impressive setup and you haven't heard about Speedstep and other "Power management" techniques that motherboard and CPU manufacturers implement to save you money by lowering Energy and heat out put from unnecessary Speeds and Voltages when it's not needed.

Sounds like it's broken mate, tell you what send it to me :-

And I'll repair it and return it to you free of charge.

Okay man, we've had enough fun for today.
We gotta be kind and understanding for the average "non-computing" Joe.

But "since" he's a RICH BOY(better rig than 95% of us), everyone is allowed to rip @ him :D

So my spelling's aweful and I haven't heard of a couple of programs. I use some but was looking to open up to new ones.

However, to respond to some of those remarks, I actually only make about $35,000/yr. ... And I'm a desktop Technician. I work hard and when I'm bored, sell my computer for what I need to build my next system....

So I went from an FX-62, 2GB RAM, case, p.s., mobo, x1950xt to what i have now + maybe $200-300

OK, we'll try to be nicer, sorry...

Don't get mad at us, look at the bright side: there's nothing wrong with your computer, and you got your answer for free in only 19 minutes. It's still pretty good, isn't it :)

Do you mean you actually sold your old computer for so much that you could buy the parts for the new one and still have $200 or $300 left? Wow... I couldn't even get $100 for my old PC :)

You seem to have got an "Elite" B3 stepping chip that clocks as well as a Good G0
The average G0 stepping wont guarantee that you can overclock it beyond 3.2Ghz. It only save you a few watts and has a tolerance of 10 Degrees more. Most people are in the misconception that All G0 are guaranteed to hit 100000Ghz, that's not the case. They are only cooler and less energy consuming.. Thus allowing more of the stock to break that 3.2Ghz barrier(Not all)

I'm starting to appreciate that I made this post because now I cannot garuntee that I made the right choice requesting an RMA. I haven't shipped it yet, so I'm open to critisism on this 1.

Thanks!
