Does this message mean I need a new driver installed?

Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.


if that message means i need a new driver can someone suggest/recommend a free one?

BEst bet is to get the K-lite Mega Codec Pack ( IT pretty much includes all of the codecs you need to run just about any type of audio\video file and they are all tested to work with each other with no conflicts) - See Here

Completely agree. Download VLC Player it will play absolutely anything you can throw at it and its very lightweight and its freeware. Once you try it you will love it No need for any other codecs also.
