[SOLVED] Does this motherboard support my cpu (Intel Xeon)

I’m looking at an X58 motherboard, I have an Intel Xeon E5649 cpu, and I didn’t know if that supports it. It has the same socket, but it also specifically mentions the 5670 cpu, so idk if it supports an E5649 cpu. Do all motherboards with the same socket support the cpu? Or do they need some kind of hardware/software to specifically support that cpu?

This bundle, has the CPU you're looking at paired with an X58 chipset motherboard. Fair guess would be a yes, but it's always a good idea to contact the seller of your motherboard and ask if it's supported.

It should support it, i would just make sure it has the latest bios. My X58 board doesnt even state you can have a xeon in it but ive had 2 installed and working.

Thanks, but I already have the cpu for basically free, and I’m hoping to find a motherboard for under $40 if that’s possible…
