Hey ,

So I was looking for a new ssd and I though spending a little for nvme could be a good idea.

I have an msi b450m gaming plus ,does it support nvme drives?

Also how do i tell if one is compatible with this or any motherboard?

Edit : I'd also be down buying a sata M.2 ,if the motherboard supports them.

Solution
AMD® B450 Chipset
  • 4 x SATA 6Gb/s ports
    • Supports RAID 0, RAID1 and RAID 10
  • 1 x M.2 slot (Key M)
    • Supports PCIe 3.0 x4 (1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™/ Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics and 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Graphics) or PCIe 3.0 x2 (Athlon™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics) and SATA 6Gb/s 2242/ 2260 /2280/ 22110 storage devices
taken off here, which states that it does but what processor are yo going to pair with that board?

In short, your board will support a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD or a SATA based M.2 SSD.
