Im getting my first computer and i was woundering if these specs are good together:

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4670K 3.40 GHz 6MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1150 (All Venom OC Certified)
HDD: 1TB SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 32MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
MEMORY: 8GB (4GBx2) DDR3/1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
MOTHERBOARD: [CrossFireX] MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate Intel Z87 Chipset DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ Military Class 4, OC Genie II, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, HDMI, 2 Gen3 PCIe x16, 2x PCI-e & 2 PCI (Pro OC Certified)
SOUND: HIGH DEFINITION ON-BOARD 7.1 AUDIO
VIDEO: AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card [+80] (Major Brand Powered by AMD)

Id like to know if there is anything i should change, either since it is not good(or as good as something else) or if it that certain part is just a waste of money.

Thanks you.

The very very best you can find out there if you are living in United States and can order online.

For other builds please state your preferred website to buy and country.

We agree in general principle, though I would suggest a slightly different build:

As with my lucky associate, if you need this revised for a different country or somesuch, I would be happy to do so.

if i wanted a case that has "looks" could i use that one instead?

Well, what case are we talking about? If it's a tiny, poorly-laid-out affair with one 80mm fan, I'd tend to recommend against it. However, as a general rule, while case does make a difference, the differences between two cases of similar cost aren't that massive, cooling and noise-wise. You might end up with a slightly louder, somewhat hotter system, but it probably wouldn't be a very noticeable different. As said, however, it all depends on which specific case you'd be switching to.

In my opinion I would recommend Fractal Design R4 here.
The case has very good airflow and cable management.

The only con (in accordance with your taste) is that it is simple matte black ($79) and window version exceeds acceptable price range for Mid ATX Towers. There are other colors if you are able to shed a bit more money too -

Arctic White
Titanium Gray

I have heard designed / acrylic cases are not good in other factors so I keep my choices simple and limited to black and if needed a touch of red or blue.

You can also check this case out -

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-case-rc922mkkn1gp

That is kind of stylish thing and does not cost much. CM HAF Cases are pretty decent too.

The R4 is an excellent option. Should you want more cooling and a more stylish exterior, the NZXT Phantom 410 is an excellent choice. The R4 has very good noise specs, however (that is, low ones).

You might want to provide Canadian retailer links, however, as OP is from Prince Edward Island.

Oh I am so sorry I forgot that.

Here we go -

It costs $110 unfortunately but the case is pretty good.

Just had a look at Phantom 410 and it looks pretty decent too, both visual and specs wise.

For some reason out of all colors I like the black one best. ^^

"The R4 has very good noise specs, however (that is, low ones)."

Sorry didn't got that. Could you please elaborate?

I may be reading those addresses wrong, but they appear to be the US site for Newegg. Could be incorrect, however, as I didn't sleep last night.

My apologies for being overly laconic (no sleep, see above). What I was meaning to indicate was that the builds using the R4 are quieter than comparable builds in other cases, due to a case design intended to minimize noise both from components and case fans.

Also, we seem to share a taste for case colours. I actually paid extra to get my Phantom 820 in black (white just looks so... out of place, somehow).

Insomnia is victorious over a lack of attention!

Here's the link to the Phantom 410, just to round things out: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146085&AID=10657534&PID=3938566&SID=&nm_mc=AFC-C8junctionCA
The shipping cost is terrifying, however, so if you decide to go that route, you'll want to see if you can get a local retailer to price match.

The R4 is a heck of a case. It's one of my three favorite mid towers, in fact (with the Phantom 410 for cooling, and the 300R for price, at least when it's going for $50).

Well I didn't really liked that but out of all the colors Blue seems to be good enough.

But that would require you to shed a bit more money for side LED illuminated fans.

At the end of the day its solely your choice and we can just give suggestions for cases we think suits your needs and would be as quiet and cool as possible.

+1. If you prefer a different case for aesthetic reasons, you're welcome to get it. We suggest the cases that, to our minds, have the greatest technical merit (cooling, quiet, expansion options, radiator support, etc.). We can't really account for taste, and you're the one who will have to live with the thing, so in the end you have to choose a case you find acceptable in all regards, not just from a specs perspective.
