Hello guys, my current PC has a 4070ti Super and a i7-13700KF. I was able to get constant 200+ FPS on fortnite but about a week ago I had 1 stick of RAM stop working. I had 32gb so i thought 16gb of ram would be good until im able to buy new RAM. i havent played in a while but i hopped on today and was getting terrible lag. anywhere from 2-50FPS and 90fps on lowest settings. could i have a virus or something or does only using 1 16gb ram stick cause that much of a difference?

If you suspect a stowaway, use Malwarebytes and perform a scan. If you suspect your drivers being aloof, use DDU to remove all GPU drivers in Safe Mode then manually reinstall with the latest GPU driver sourced from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

What sort of rams were you working with? Make and model of your motherboard and BIOS version? What ram slot is the single stick of ram populating?

FYI, yes, dual channel setups extract the most out of your platform, regardless of whether you're on Intel or AMD.
