Hi , i am planning to use my tv as a monitor, i will be using my pc for moderate to high level gaming my setup is as follows:
CPU- i5-4690k 3.5ghz, GPU- Nvidia GTX 960 4gb RAM- 2x 8gb sticks MOBO- MSI z97 gaming 3 PSU- Corsair 600W and CPU cooler- corsair H60 water cooler.

What i would like to know is if using my tv will put too much strain on any of these components?

But to specifically answer that question, no. You could user your TV, your phone or an old CRT. All the computer knows is there's something on the other end of that cable and it say it can use what it sends when you've picked a resolution to use. It doesn't care what it is.
