Hello,
I am just curious if i can use LCD TV as a monitor instead of regular PC monitor. Will this hurt my eyes if I look to tv screen very close (1 meter away=3.28 feet). I want to use tv MEDION® LIFE® P14034 MD 20293 . Also if there is a delay when playing games (response time of tv is 5 ms)?

Display information:
static contrast 1000: 1
dynamic contrast 10,000: 1
physical resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels
aspect ratio 16: 9
250 cd / m² brightness (type.)
response time 5 ms (type.)
visible angle: 170 ° / 160 ° H / V (type.)

Thank you for your answer 😉

The main difference between TVs and monitors is on the extra electronics e.g. the image processing part, these are the culprits for the bad input lag.

Some say, color are washed out on TVs, picture make the eyes got tired more quickly, etc. Well, these are TV dependent. Not all TVs are like these. Good TVs are not like this.
I used Sony KDL37EX500 (color is not that good on this one) before and now I am on Sony KD55XE8505, these TVs are ok for monitors.
My sister has Samsung 55" Q6FN and she used it as PC monitor too. This one is...
I used a Samsung LCD TV 32" for a few years before upgrading to dual 27", and I had no issues what so ever. hopefully your TV uses HDMI this will make proper synching of speeds with it with your video card (instead of vga for example), bonus was with antenna also connected I could use PNP use computer and watch in corner hockey game:)

Define "hurt"!

If the monitor/TV is not comfortable to look, possible causes:
- Brightness is controlled via PWM, hence flickers
- Inducing too much blue light
- Micro stuttering or jitter is available

Things which are always present on TVs but should not "hurt":
- higher input lag, compared to normal PC monitor.

If you see any of those or all of those, that depends on the TV. If the TV is from good quality, everything should be ok. As for that Medion TV, I do not know.

I am also using my TV as PC monitor once in a while but everything is ok so far.

Thank you for your answer...

So do you thnik there is no difference between TV and monitor...?

Why are people not looking to TV 1 meter away than, they thnik it will do damage to their eyes....

It's something that still remains from when crts were a thing. It's just a saying that sticks around.
If you do feel eyestrain do make sure you are in a well enough lit room as looking at a screen in a dark room can tire out your eyes quickly.

Also suprisingly I own that exact tv and it's horrible as a screen. Washed out colours, heavy inputlag, slow startup of it, poor viewing angles. I really don't recommend it at all and the speakers sound high pitched and slightly distorted.
