Does western digital U storage mass driver work with windows 7

I have a 2011 Hp computer with windows 7. The WD mass drive is older(2003) but run excellenly on windows XP, is this mass driver too old to run on my Hp or do I need patches? The software that came wih the mass drive will not do anything on the Hp;however when I first plugged in the USB plug to the PC it did attempt to install softare but failed.

Then goto www.hp.com and download the windows7 driver for your drive model and install it.

Whats a Western Digital Mass drive?
It sounds like WD external drive so you would go to WD's site and download drivers.
