Looking at 7800xt cards and the asrock challenger OC is the cheapest version of the card but they put something inside the name I don't think I've seen before. A "CL" beside the RX7800XT. Is this a marketing term or is the GPU worst in any way? I've also heard something about the GPU "Hot spotting" or it being effected by some "AMD crashing bug". I've kind of always bought the cheapest variant of a card and never really had issues.

Here is the GPU I'm looking at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHK3929K?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

If you look here;
https://www.asrock.com/Graphics-Card/index.asp#RX7800XT
Select Challenger, Steel Legend and Phantom Gaming you'll see two letters change in the naming of the card.

CL = Challenger
SL = Steel Legend
PG = Phantom Gaming

Also, the Challenger's are the bottom of ASRock's product stack, much like the Ventus cards from MSI.

Does this mean it's a bad card and shouldn't be bought? Will it achieve the same performance as a normal card? Does it have a shorter life expectancy?

I'd go with Sapphire over ASRock when it comes to AMD graphics cards. They've been doing it longer and doing it well. And the Pulse cards, while at the lower end of the Sapphire product stack, are a much better product for around the same price, than the ASRock Challenger cards. Reviews for the Sapphire Pulse 7800 xt seem to indicate they run well, cool and quiet. I'd definitely go Sapphire if choosing AMD much the same as I'd have gone EVGA when going Nvidia back when EVGA was still making Nvidia cards.
