Does Windows 10 Pro will run smoothly on a Core 2 Duo?

I have a Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83 Ghz processor, 2.5GB of RAM, and Intel GMA 900.

Does Windows 10 Pro or Windows 8.1 64 bit will run smoothly in my laptop? Thanks

The specs are sufficient for Win 10 Pro - However, whether your laptop will handle Win 10 Pro depends on the motherboard features and capability designed in by the manufacturer.

I installed Win 10 Pro 64-bit on a Dell D630 and it runs fine. Check with your laptop manufacturer about Win 10 Pro.

By the way, the main reason that I'm going to upgrade the os of my laptop is that I want to install higher version of Visual Studio like VS Pro 2015 or 2017, What ya think? Can my laptop multitask smoothly?

There's no windows 10 support for the igpu. 2.5gb ram is not near enough for smooth work.

I know this is an old post but one of my work setups is amazingly close to yours. I am running Visual Studio 2015 (Update 3) on a Core 2 Duo (HP Pavillion desktop) with 4GB ram (DDR2) and Windows 10 Pro (version 1709).

While both Windows and Visual Studio do run, sooner or later it becomes obvious that the setup requires quite some patience especially when a lot of processes are running simultaneously. The same goes for certain Visual Studio projects: big projects with lots of files or heavy projects such as asp.net web api or mvc projects. For example, it is interesting that old-fashioned asp.net webforms projects execute smoothly while an asp.net web api mvc project that I am currently working on does not.

I will upgrade to 8GB of ram next week but I don't expect a big improvement in performace. IMHO, the two main components that slow things down are the CPU and the lack of an SSD, of course.

Bottom line is, it will run but requires quite a bit of patience from your side.
