I recently bought a used computer with all the necessary components in it without a drive. It doesn't have any HDD or SSD or a optical disk drive, so I connected my two HDDs from my old computer to the one I recently bought.
Since the computer didn't come with a optical disk drive I want to boot with a USB flash drive that has windows 7 ultimate in it.
I have a iso windows 7 file which I'm going to extract into a folder and put into the usb flash drive to use as a bootable drive.
then I'll connect the usb and boot with it.

my question is, after I boot into windows 7 with the usb flash drive, can I just unplug the usb?
will windows 7 be downloaded into one of the HDDs (which aren't formatted)?

Solution
Yes, of course.

Though, the best thing to do is to leave only the drive you want to install Windows to connected to the computer and reconnect the other drive after installation is done.

so when the installing process is done, windows in downloaded into one of the two HDDs I have connected?
what would happen if I booted into windows with usb when my HDDs aren't formatted and already have windows within it?

the problem I'm having is that I can't boot into my HDD that has windows in it, so I'm trying to boot with a usb.

Yes.

It will boot into the Windows installation from the USB drive and bypass the HDDs.

so in order to have windows installed into one of the HDDs I must have it formatted first right?

wow that's nice! i didnt know that was possible.
will I be given an option to choose which HDD I want to format and re-install windows?

ahh that's a good way.

thank you!
