I have a Gigabyte GA-X99-Gaming 5P motherboard. I recently purchased a Intel 7260NGW Dual Band Wireless-AC card for the motherboard. It took 2 months to arrive and now that it's here I realized that it doesn't come with antennas. I connected the card and installed the bluetooth and wireless drivers and it picks up fine in on my OS (Windows 10 x64) but the wifi doesn't show any access points even when I make a hotspot on my phone right next to the PC. The bluetooth doesn't pick up any devices either.

I'm think this could be that there aren't any antennas. Can someone tell me if its necessary to have antennas for this to work?

Your speedy feedback is much appreciated. Could you tell me which antenna I require for my particular model?

It depends on what you want to do.
You could get this http://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Notebook-Bluetooth-Internal-Antenna/dp/B00ISK2MTQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442342032&sr=8-1&keywords=notebook+wifi+antenna and then run it from the card to the front of your case.

Or you could get these: http://www.amazon.com/U-FL-RP-SMA-Pigtail-Antenna-Cable/dp/B005UWD0EG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442342063&sr=8-1&keywords=u.fl+to+rp-sma
Drill a couple holes in a PCI bracket on the back of your PC, and then attach some RP-SMA antennas to them.

Either method will vary with results.
The first option requires less fabrication but has the likeliness of less signal
The second option requires more fabrication and if the PC is blocking signal from the antennas then you may need to extend it with 2 of these: http://www.amazon.com/SMAKN-RP-SMA-Female-Antenna-Socket/dp/B00FCKTRTI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1442342363&sr=8-7&keywords=rp-sma+2+antenna+base

Unfortunately you are going to spend more on making this non-wifi computer have wifi then it would cost to just get powerline network adapter which would have been faster then wifi if your PC is more then 2 rooms away from the router.

Thanks for your response buddy it was very helpful.

Usually when I'm looking for a particular component I search for a model to get an idea of what I'm looking for but for some reason I couldn't find it at all.

The "2X U.FL Mini PCI to RP-SMA Pigtail Antenna WiFi Cable" will work perfect for me since I a Gaming 5P motherboard which has two holes already on the motherboad as well as on the I/O shield for that exact type of antenna. I really appreciate your advice bud.
