Question Does Youtube decrease video quality depending on viewer count?

Hello,

wasn't sure where to post but I went with this topic. I recently uploaded some of my videos on Youtube (in the past aswell) and I have/had an issue that some of them get blurry, pixelated and even lose fps (although my video was recorded at 90 FPS Youtube decided to turn it down to 48). I tested in the past different settings such as decreasing and increasing Bitrate in OBS however there wasn't anything I could make a conclusion of.

I've seen a video that stated about Youtube making those pixelations and blurriness appear based on the small amount of viewer count and that they change to a lower quality codec allegedly (but nothing about Youtube decreasing FPS just like in my case).

I am also using the correct video requirements such as mp4 and audio codec aswell if I remember correctly.

Does anyone have perhaps an idea about this case?

One of the ways Youtube changes what the user gets, is based on their connection speed.

If you have uploaded the uberest 90fps at 1440....they will downscale that if the user has a slow connection.

Here are the video details:
2560x1440 Resolution
90 FPS
Bitrate 25000

My upload speed is 9. Is that enough?

Nono....the download speed.
It wants to present a seamless video. It will, AFAIK, downgrade the resolution so as to prevent skipping/buffering as you watch it.

Also, it reencodes after the vid is uploaded.
High resolution is not necessarily available right after the upload is complete.
