First of all, I got this dog, Tazz, after my dad just passed away less than a week ago. It was his dog so naturally I love the dog. I wanted to give him a chance bc he's like a piece of my father. My fiancé has this very nice, expensive gaming computer and a brand new tower. It has fan slots in numerous places, one being on the front bottom. Well I noticed pee on it earlier. I wiped it off good( I couldn't take it apart bc I don't know anything abt computers). I know for a fact my fiancé is going to die when he finds out bc he has put so much time and money into it and it's practically never been used it's so new. He peed in the fan part and idk what to do. It won't turn on and I'm so worried and scared to tell him. Please please help. Thanks so much 🙁

Urine has electrolytes, which are great conductors of electricity. Do not power on the unit until the urine has dried and been cleaned as well as possible.
Hopefully the location of the fan/filter prevented much spread of the urine into the case. If you're lucky it just pooled at the front side and didn't spread.

Was in a similar situation, except a cat was the offender. Didn't ruin anything, as I cleaned every trace on the motherboard with alcohol. Certainly didn't smell very good for awhile though.

If it was where I think you are describing (the very front and bottom of the case, below the cd drive), then I think it should be fine. Usually, there is only empty slots there for hard drives. If he did happen to store a hard drive there, then even if it is broken, which it may not be, it will not be too bad of a situation.

Thank you so much!! I'm scared to tell him. He will flip 🙁 how do I get the case off to clean it? Any other tips?? Maybe I can clean it up and do everything I can to see if it works and if it doesn't go from there?
Here's the exact tower. He peed at the front bottom where that fan is. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146105

You pretty much have to remove all the components from the case which is NOT recommended with no computer knowledge. Also, he will know even if you put it back together correctly. There is no "one way" to build a computer. Everyone does cable management differently. Your best best to not hurt anything is just let him sort it out. He will be mad that it got peed on but he would be REALLY mad if you damaged things worse trying to fix it.

Just my 2 cents.

I can feel your pain, and know you'd like to have everything cleaned up before he finds out the dog did his business on his baby, however I wouldn't attempt to open anything up and clean it yourself. Just mop[ up the outside - don't spray any cleaning solution on the case though.

As upset as he may be at the fact that his creation has been peed upon, he'd be much more upset if you ruined components trying to fix the issue.

I do commend you for being a good fiancee and wanting to fix the dog's mistake 😛

Thank you so much! :) I do try. I just know how upset he will get 🙁 how do I tell him?.... When I say upset like he will snap. So..

Well, that is a different problem than we can really help with here. I don't like to give relationship advice, but if you are genuinely afraid to tell him about an accident like this and it will cause him to "snap", you probably have other things more important to work out than a broken computer.

Like tiny voices said, that's an entirely separate forum you're looking for 😛
I'd show him this thread, that you tried to fix it, but knew to just leave well enough alone and not aggravate the issue.

Give Kaylee a break, fiancee, she tried! :)
