hello,

i just got a new lenovo ideapad y510p laptop with preinstalled windows 8.1. as soon as it arrived, i tried to do a clean (fresh) installation. however, there was no key sticker on the laptop and none of the documents had the key, but after hours of research i found 2 different keys using belarc advisor and powershell. then, i downloaded 8.1 setup from ''upgrade windows with only a product key'' at microsoft's website, but my keys didn't work.

my questions are:

1) where can i download windows 8.1 iso safely? can i use the one in downloads page at microsoft website (the one at the store) to do a clean install? (some people said it cannot be used to do a clean install, is it true?)

2) also, when i get the iso and begin to do a clean install, will the setup accept one of the keys, or will the pc automaticly activate the setup?

Solution
The key(s) you have are OEM from Lenovo. What you tried to use from MS is retail.
Won't work.

You have to get the correct install from Lenovo. And it may come with all the bloatware you already have.
