Before I begin, here is the laptop I have: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-flip-2-in-1-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/2995123.p?id=1219567194763&skuId=2995123
I want to upgrade my laptop to an SSD, and I need a few answers to these questions:
-What size does my SSD have to be for this specific model (heard about some laptops being too thin for standard SSDs).
-What SSDs are reliable and will last the longest. Not necessarily fastest, but ones I can trust.
-Can this laptop's hard drive be upgraded to a SSD?

1 - most modern SSDs are now 7mm thick, which is what you should look for. skip the ones that are 9mm thick (there are a few!)

2 - most people talk about speed over longevity, but i have old-ish corsair and adata drives that are fine after 2-3 years. i think intel makes solid stuff but it ain't cheap

3 - almost definitely, but it's a 1TB so don't fill it up since a 1TB SSD is $500 or so. there's tools that can migrate what you have, but i tend to play it safe and set up my partitions to all fit within whatever SSD i'll be buying.
