Domain or workgroup network for a small company?

I'm doing a project and I have to set up a network for an advertisting/graphic arts company. There will be 3 artists, a sales manager, and a secretary/accountant and 6 or so PCs. I'm leaning towards using a domain because of security, ease of access/control, people can work from home using the domain, etc. What I want to know is if it makes sense to use a domain for such a small company and whether or not it's cost effective.

Are you going to have Windows Servers anyway? If not, then that is a significant expense you wouldn't have to have with a workgroup. Ideally you should have two Windows servers to ensure your domain doesn't have a single point of failure. But with something this small, a single ADS with backups should be an acceptable risk.
