Dont know how to install intel optane on a msi motherboard. plz help

I bought a new MSI Z370 gaming plus motherboard, core i5 8600k, intel optane 16 GB. I still have my old Kingston SSD boot drive. I tried the "optane genie" but it won't boot. The bios comes up when I restart. I've searched for hours and can't find a good video or thread where someone shows the steps clearly (I'm not the best with bios in general and this is my first MSI motherboard) not even the Intel or MSI official videos makes sense. Thank you in advance.

An intel optane module is for non-voltage storage. you cannot run windows on the optane module itself, that is not what a optane module is for.

the module speeds up the data transfer from an storage module like an hard drive, ssd or even an m.2 ssd. it is like an ram module, but on an m.2 slot.

I know that very well. I want to use the optane module as an accelerator like its intended but when I enable it in the bios my ssd wont boot. that's the problem i have thanks for answering tho

i think you forgot to install the optane setup program before you installed the optane module and enable intel optane.

if that is the case, remove the module, disable intel optane, download and install intel optane setup program and install it on your ssd. turn off your pc, install the module, enable intel optane and problem solved?

I've installed the software but it said that my bios is not compatible so I've updated the bios but still nothing. ill try unplugging the module and plugging it back in again but this time I'll make sure to have the software installed beforehand. thx a lot for the tip. let's see if it works 😀
