Don't know if a Asus gtx 780 needs more than 500 W

I want to buy a ASUS gtx 780, but it says it needs 300 W but i've heard that you need at least 600. I have a Corsair CX 500.

The GeForce GTX 780 requires 42A on the +12v rail and a 600W PSU minimum
i would reccomend a psu from
seasonic/xfx or any psu from the corsair TX,HX or AX range of PSU's as they all have high grade japanese capacitors

My Gigabyte 780 recommends 650w with a minimum of 42A on the 12v.

I would get a psu of 700w or thereabouts for some headroom
