Don't know what to choose out of these two.

Building a new rig and I'm between the MSI 970 and the GIGABYTE G1 GAMING 970. What's your opinions on these two regarding performance? I couldn't find anything so I was going to go with the gigabyte because of the backplate that comes with it but then I thought I should ask here. I will also get a matching motherboard for each one (personal preference) Gigabyte GA z97x gaming 5 for the gigabyte and msi z97 gaming 5 for the msi.

The MSI 970 has been in some great benchmark tests and produced insane results. Even going so far as to allow 60fps in Witcher 2 with Ubersampling on when overclocked. I'm going for the MSI version myself in a few days and have read up on these cards extensively.

msi--got one myself overclocks great and is quiet

lot of bad reviews on new egg recently about the gigabyte cards--believe the newer cards changed from samsung to hynix or other memory modules

can buy the msi backplate--think i paid about £15 for it
