Recently I upgraded from a Toshiba d10t... HDD and put in my new SSD (Samsung Evo 860 1tb) Once i set it up everything was good after i used the data migration to put my stuff onto my SSD, only problem ive faced is that i play rocket league, and i use a controller and all of the sudden after i put it in it hasnt been working, i have 2 different ones and have had them for a really long time, the odds of the crapping out on the same day are astronomical especially since the last time i used them they were good. I went to youtube, found a bunch of videos on it but its not lighting up when i plug it in or giving the windows sound for either of them. device manager didnt see them and my xbox controller with a micro-usb cable on it flashes when i press the power button, you can limit that its not a controller issue... Any help?

Solution
  1. Open device manager
  2. plug in the controller and locate the unknown device item that is the controller (might have to replug the controller a couple times to see what goes away and re-appears)
  3. right click the unknown device and select update driver
  4. "browse my computer for driver software"
  5. "let me pick...."
  6. Scroll to the bottom for Xbox peripherals
  7. Select "Xbox One Controller"
