Don't think my graphics card is working while playing games

I have playing Minecraft over the past couple days and have ben getting a consistent 60fps no problem. When I started playing this morning I noticed my frames were hovering in the low 30s high 20s. I also noticed that it said it was using my intel integrated graphics rather than the gpu. I have tried changing settings in the nvidia control panel to use the graphics card and nothing has changed. I also changed the computer to performance in both the nvidia control panel and the intel graphics settings. I have made sure I have the latest drivers installed as well.

It's an acer, try reinstalling the GPU driver, disable power saving on the gpu.
In device manager do you see the dedicated GPU ?

If not most likely the gpu has overheated and died .
The laptop needs to be replaced if it died.

Yes when I go into device manager I can see the graphics card. I will try the other things

What about trying to disable intel integrated graphics not uninstall it just disabling it

Make sure your monitor is connecyed to your video card and not the motherboard's video output.
Look in the BIOS and disable onboard/integrated video if you can.
