Question Doom 2016 Linux Lost Save Games Steam Cloud

I had not played Doom 2016 in a while, when I logged on to Steam, apparently my progress has been lost. I went to the Steam Cloud and the save game was from today.

Doom 2016 had an update. I was reading that this happens more often than it should for Steam cloud saves.

Any suggestions?

I'll be darned if I can find it locally.

When looking at my Steam cloud, all the files are today.

I have a follow up question.

In Doom 2016 you can change the difficulty level during the game. I was wondering if I could change the difficulty level to the easiest just to get back to where I lost all my save games. Once I get back to where I left off (Argent Energy Tower), I will switch the difficulty back to Hurt Me Plenty.

FYI, I am no longer using the Steam cloud and just keeping my save games on my local machine only.
