just loaded doom3 onto an hp 7168 laptop. Put a ms usb optical mouse
into the usb port and loaded up the drivers from the cd. Got into the
game far enough to acquire the shotgun. This recruit isnt going to
survive very long, however, because he cant seem to stop switching
between the flashlight, pistol, bare hands and shotgun, as he navigates
the labrynth. I'm pretty sure its not me doing it. Of course, most
every time I meet a bad guy, I'm bare knuckles. Any suggestions for a
fix?
Also, I connected the S-video out of the g force card on the laptop to
the s-video on my olivia 29" lcd tv. As the laptop booted, the tv
displayed the boot sequence. Once software was loaded, the tv went
black and the laptop lcd screen stayed active.
Anyone know how to tell the f-force card to make the s-video active on
a hp 7000 series laptop?
thanks so much and happy gaming.

ne'er mind about the switching of weapons thing. The laptop has a
little curser pad in the center below the keypad, which was activated.
Everytime my forearm touched it, I changed weapons. Im making progress
with the s-video.

Laff... I was going to suggest turning off the touchpad. Happens to me all
the time in FPS games on my laptop.

About S-Video, if you have a Geforce card, you want to look in the Display
Properties for a "Twintap" tab. There should be an option in there to enable
TV Display out, and then you have to make the TV monitor your #1 display on
the Displays tab, so that the 3D game is sent to that and the laptop LCD
becomes the #2 display which is unused during games.

I do believe the graphics card in the hp laptop is the Nvidia Geforce.
I have been into the system display functions and can identify the lap
as #1, and the TV as #2. The tv does display the windows logo on a blue
background but when I load the doom3, the tv picture is static and the
game plays on the lap. I'll do some more menu searching in the display
functions to see if I can locate the TV Display tab. I'd love to play
this game on the big screen.
Thanks for the help, Tweek!

Yeah, look for a Displays tab, there should be a 1-2 toggle under each
active display...

You probably need to click on an "Advanced" button on the "Settings" tab to
find the Display tab that sets the main display...
