RIP Don, I only hope your gravestone is as cool. (Pictures a gravestone that looks a lot like the Doom box cover only instead of 'Doom' written in doom font it says 'Don')

And in my opinion John Romero is a self-idolized douche. RIP to your career asshat.

Somehow I picture the art director of Boy's Life in a situation where he needs to hire an artist and goes "Hmmm, I think I'll call the guy who did the cover to last month's Playboy."

Doom wasn't the first FPS, but it set the standard at the time. All the FPS' afterwords were chasing after it.

Ahh, memories of a 286 or was it a 386 machine and Doom, the FPS that really started it all even though Wolfenstein was the first.

same here..back in the day i was playing Darklands, one of the best games of all time..IMHO.
First time i played Doom .. i got dizzy.. and almost puked.
never will forget that.
