My build is an i5 6600k, asus z170 a, gtx1080, and 16 gig ddr4 ripjaw... Doom has crashed on me a few times and I can't figure out why... They are completely random and not at parts of the game with lots of demand so I am extra confused as to what could be going on... I reset my i5 6600k to its stock 3.5 ghz thinking maybe it was unstable even though its passed stress test with flying colors... and there is no way my gpu is struggling with doom at 1080p... in game you can run the OSD and my gpu stats are all green... My cpu is yellow and the max occasionaly falls into red... that was with it overclocked at 4.6ghz... At stock it seems to do the same... Any ideas? Please don't tell me my cpu is having issues pushing doom... I don't have the cash to upgrade to an i7 on hand lol

I doubt it's your gear, more software and i suspect it's relating between concerned software parties ranging from the operating system, game developer and video drivers, not to name companies.

Your not the only one:

Edit: If it is software, It should sort itself out given the vastness and commonness of the issue, just keep an eye out on software updates for those components i mentioned.

Thank you boju, I was thinking maybe immature drivers since I am on the gtx 1080 but it seems like its a problem that effects a whole lot more than just me... I saw in that thread people where complaining that it was crashing every couple of minutes some even said immediately on start up... I have only had 2 crashes in 9 hours of game play so I suppose I will just be grateful that I am having considerably less issues than others seem to be... There seems to be a patch for doom on the horizon, lets hope it sorts this out so I don't have to deal with anymore nonsense... Now I suppose I will set my cpu back to 4.6 ghz and ignore the crashes until patches LOL... Thank you again boju
