To be honest this is good news! That will make sure we really equip ourselves with this year end's kick-ass hardware coming. It will be released in less than a year from now, so that easily allows us to save for Prescott P4s, A64s, and new nVidia and ATis. I think it's great since knowing that Doom III is really manipulating consumers' purchases, it will push them to wait and get the real deal later on, (giving them the impression that the reason it's delayed is because of fears of low performance) to insure all other games will also be running very well.

Personally I do not mind waiting, but it's the hype that I am worried about. It either might die and move on, or become two-fold and kill the game once it's out.

If HL2 comes out on time for christmas, this really gives them a headstart.

I think the one that get's released first will get the lion's share of hype. The second one out of the gates just won't seem quite as impressive...

According to some of the reviewers they will be differently impressive. D]|[ will own the shadows, but HL will look very impressive in other areas (there was a list) due to the facility of doing some things in DX (not my opinion just what I read so OGL programmers like Dave I'm not sayng it, just saying what they wrote)

Anywhoo, both should be good, but I think the one I'll likely get my hands on first will be XIII and that will keep me happy until the other title come out, heck even HALO for PC will be nice (especially online).

What about this Counter-strike 2 COndition Zero. Heard about that game a while ago...Suppose to be exact same gameplay/weapons etc but with a new graphx engine(the only thing missing from CS...). Anyone have more input on that game? HL2 engine running cs mod?

I'm really looking forward to HALO pc, although the last developer interview I read stated that they probably won't be including co-op play, which is why the game is so great IMHO.

WHAT !?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that's wrong, because that IS what makes Halo AWESOME. Heck I've had 20+hr long co-operative missions with my friends (when we get the itch [like every 3-4 mths]). A friend brings over his X-box and I rent one from BlockBu$ter (I will never own an MS Xbox [I won't go into it]) and we hook them up to my 2 big TVs (I hate the 4 split screen but 2 half screens is fine]and link them), I love that. It makes the FLOOD easier to kill in those passages where they fall from the roof. And it mean I get to be the sniper and do what I love (I'm also the crazy bastard who runs right into things [while letting others know] to ge the enemies to 're-act' and let's the others hang back to mop up and pick them off). I seriously LOVE Halo, but without co-operative play it will suck on the PC.
Awww that's just ruined my 'gaming' day. I hope it's a misquote or something (like 'will be released later' or something).

BTW, have you even seen the Halo Nvidia promo with the GF2 GTS. Makes me laugh nowadays. Ahh yes the power of the GF2. Imagine on an FX5900 or R9700/9800.

IT may be delayed but there will be a DEMO of the D]|[ deathmatch at QuakeCon. 4 player death match. That's a nice feature especially when at first blush they were luke-warm on the idea ('we're focusing on just the First Person aspect now and maybe after release we'll add multi-player')

Check the story on the fron page of http://www.quakecon.org/

It'll be interestting to see that, and to see the multi-player interface.

Well, gotta rest. Ciaola!

Halo is an ok game with coop play. Without coop it's worthless.
