Doom3 multiplayer problem

I did a search on this subject. Found this
question to be asked many times but never
fully answered.

Trying to join multiplayer servers I get
this error message
"missing 1 media pak files" followed by
a string of symbols.
I thought the server might be running a map
or a mod I don't have but I get this on every
server I try to connect to.
Am I going to have to reinstall this game?

It sounds like you are running mods yourself. Did you extract anything
at all into your base directory or alter your pk4 files in any way? Do
you have any mods loaded (even sound mods) when going to join multiplayer?

I would follow M.W.H's site and copy the pk4 files off of the CD.
