Hi!

How can I start Doom 3 on a specific monitor?
I have a TFT (primary) and a CRT (secondary) but Doom always opens its
fullscreen window on the TFT which is bad because the CRT has far better
color/contrast/etc.

Does anybody how to force it to the CRT?

TIA
Johannes

you have to set the crt monitor as primary monitor.
you can do it by opening the monitor proprieties (right click on the desktop
and then propreties)
then in the proprieties (where you can chose the resolution of the monitor)
you can see two monitor.

click on the one that correspond to the crt monitor and click on "use as
primary monitor"

Good luck!

bye

I believe in the display properties window, you can choose which monitor
you'd like to be called "primary".

Doom 3 and other apps such as dvd playing should go on the primary.

To get to display properties, right click on the desktop and choose
properties.

I have two video cards installed in my system, each displaying a different
image. I have in the past had two keyboards attatched, and they both worked
flawlessly. I assume it's possible to have two joysticks or mice also.

Is there any way to run two copies of Doom 3 (or any other ID shooter) and
play head to head on a single computer with two
monitors/keyboards/joysticks/etc?

Should ID include this ability in a future patch?

I think there's a software called Virtual PC that let you setup
terminals like that. And yeah might be possible. You must have 1
hell of a machine to run 2 copies of doom 3 though, no pun hehe.

Doesn't the video card do most of the work? I'd think if you had two decent
video cards and a fast CPU with lots of RAM you'd be ok.

I'd like to see ID offer this as a setup option. If it detects the required
option it could let you run two users on the same machine.

It would be a focus related problem also because only one Doom instance can
have the focus to gain all user inputs. Theoretically it may be possible if
id would provide a special mode for this.

Furthermore you only can run it on two screens by using span modes by the
driver (e.g. nView) because dual modes by WinXP doesn't provide hardware
acceleration on non primary screens due to DirectX limitations.
