Interesting, never thought I would play Doom with full controller support on PC.

Well, that wouldn't be as strange as you would think. Just need the right drivers. Doom pretty much always supported joystick play, heck I remember firing it up with a steering wheel hooked up and we all tried playing it that way. It was really hard. My brother had a SNES style game pad for the PC that he used all the time during that era. It worked far better on games with true look up/down like Quake and Unreal though.

My compliments to the author. A very informative article. I hope more people read it. I'm sure there are a lot of people that like Retro gaming and the old Dos games. I'll have to try very hard not to check out the list of games available to play. Like I don't have enough things to spend too much time already.😏😆
