Hello everyone,
after some research I have put together the following components for my computer configuration. The goal is to have a computer which is capable of doing renderings (heavy ones included) with 3D softwares like 3D Studio Max, Maya, Blender and so on. Therefore the CPU should be the most important part since the whole end-rendering is based on it, while the workflow rendering is based on the GPU. In the free time I would like to play as well with it but that's a very secondary goal. At the end I found myself with the following configuration and I would like to know what you think about it:

- Ryzen 7 2700x
- Gigabyte Aorus X470 Ultra Gaming
- G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3200C16D-16GTZR
- Samsung 970 Evo 250 GB
- Noctua nh-d15
- Thermaltake V4 Black Edition (reused from previous configuration)
- Corsair CMPSU-650TXEU 650W (reused from previous configuration)

Besides asking if you agree with the configuration, I have a couple of questions:

1) I downloaded the manual of the x470 (from here https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING-rev-10#support-doc) and I see that the compatible G.Skill ram is the F4-3200C16Q-64GVK.. while the one I want to buy is the F4-3200C16D-16GTZR.. is there any problem of compatibility?

2) I have read that for SSD it's better to choose sizes bigger than 500GB. Is it true or the one I chose is okey?

3) about the GPU I targetted the MSI.. but honestly I don't know which brand is the best.. EVGA, Gigabyte and so on.. the question is: is there any brand that FOR SURE I have to avoid?

From the Gigabyte brand the most suggested one is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 Gaming
or other 2 good ones suggested are the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0
and the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G

are these 3 more or less the same? :) If yes, everything will depend on which one will have the lowest price for example on black friday :D

If still too high I will go for an MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Gaming 8G or a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Gaming 8G

4) I saw also this windforce: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/563997/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1080-windforce-oc-8g.html but no clue if it is a valuable choice or not

Thanks everyone in advance :)

Hi everyone
After doing some system compatibility research on pcpartpicker so i can get into Solo photorealism rendering using UE4 and Blender 2.79 and the Skyrim creation kit, i have notice people in game development are using GTX 1080s and 1080 Ti, now RTX 2080 RTX 2080 Ti's are out i heard bad stories about 2080 Ti GPU, as because game development is basically a 3D rendering, 3D cad using a free download unreal engine 4 software, the types of GPU should be used are the Quadro range Quadro P5000, Quadro P6000, but the Quadros should be used as they are VR ready Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000, Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000, Nvidia Quadro 6000 and the Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000, to run those Quadro RTX in SLI you need a Nvlink the Quadro RTX 5000 uses a Quadro Nvlink 4-Slot as for the Quadro RTX 6000 & 8000 uses a Quadro Nvlink HB 4-Slot so the 2 GPUs are communicating will each other, now rendering in photorealism is all about detail, my pcpartpicker system is this

CPU - AMD threadripper 2990WX 3 GHz 32 core processor
CPU Cooler - Asus ROG RYUJIN 360 121.8 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard - Gigabyte X399 AORUS XTREME EATX TR4 Motherboard
Memory - Corsair Dominator Platinum 128 GB (8 x 16 GB ) DDR4 - 3466 memory
Storage - Samsung 860 PRO (4 x 4 TB) 2.5" Solid State Drives
Video Card - 2 x PNY Nvidia Quadro RTX 6000 24 GB Video Card (2 way SLI), or RTX 8000 in SLI. 1x Quadro Nvlink HB 4-Slot
Case - Cooler Master COSMOS C700P ATX Full Tower Case
Power Supply - Corsair 1200i Watt 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modullar ATX Power Supply i already own
Optical Drive - Pioneer - BDR - 211EBK Blue - Ray/DVD/CD Writer
Operating System - Microsoft Windows 10 PRO OEM 64-bit
Software - Symantic Norton Security Deluxe 1 year 5 devices
Monitor - 2 x Dell UP3218K 31.5" 7680x4320 60 Hz Monitors
Keyboard - Asus ROG Claymore Wired Gaming Keyboard Mechanical
Mouse ROG Spatha Wireless Lazer Mouse
Speakers - Logitech Z906 500 W 5.1ch speakers
UPs - 2 x Eaton 1200 W UPs
1 x thermal CPU Past

So that it for the System configuration from pcpartpicker, all i have to eventually get is a noble gaming chair and a Epson multifuntion ET7750 scanner printer
