Yes, it takes two 2 slots in the back of your case.
Here is a single slot 7800GT vs a dual slot 8800GTS

If money matters to you, the single slot 8800GT is a better buy.

I totally prefer a dual slot cooler, specifically one that blows the hot GPU air out of the case.

I just heard that they will be coming out with the new G92 GTS in December at it will have all 128 shader units enabled and probably smoke a GTX Ultra. I am just guessing at a pricetag around $350 to $400. You should probably just wait for that or get an EVGA 8800 GT and trade-up.

The prices of the GTX's should plummet soon as they are now "yesterday's technology".

well i still have time to cancel the order, just one day though!, so should i wait? but i am gettin very unpatience:(, gtx seems cool and big:p and i game at 1680x1050, so is the new one going to be much better?,

does this mean that not all x16pci motherboard will be able to fit this in? this is my motherboard will it fit in it? ASUS IPIBL-LA? thanks alot

The 8800GTX is still the fastest you can buy today. The dual slot cooler(good) just means that the next slot to your pci-e slot will not be useable for anything. This is not normally any problem unless you have fully populated all the slots in your mobo. What you DO need to check is room for the length of the card in your case. It is 1.5" longer than normal, I think a total of 10.5". Also it requires two pci-e power connectors, and a PSU with about 30a on the 12v rails total.

well lucky you in the USA, here in the UK things r different i pay 50 pounds more on a GTX than a GT, so its worth the 50 pounds, thnx neway:)

The corsair 550 has two pcie connectors and plenty of power. It would be a fine choice. The 450 has enough power, but only one pcie connector. I think you can get an a pcie adaptor elsewhere if necessary.

so if i go for the 450 i will need an extra pcie connector?, do i just buy one and plug it to the PSU and to the video card
