Doubts in upgrade

You need a new computer. Yours is very, very old (10 years old at least). No new parts will work with it, as technology has changed a lot in that time. Depending on where you live, on your budget, and on the use you will give it, you might be better off with different configurations, but not knowing any of those details, i can't give you any proper advice.

Solution
Potentially Windows 7 would be okay (Depending on how much ram you have, min 2GB, realistically 3GB) for light web browsing and stuff, but you should buy a better PC.
Also a light version of linux might work if you're okay with some change
