I'm a person who brings there pc EVERYWHERE. Going to a case about 3 or 5 liters less saves a lot of space for me. I currently own a GTX 1070, which has been an awesome card, but sadly required me to stay at a 10 liter case (Silverstone sg13). I've been looking around at low profile gpu's, for a chance to maybe get down to a 4 or 3 liter case with gaming powers. Power is moderately needed. Most games i run get 130 fps on average (Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, CS:GO, Emulators, ext.)

Now a friend of mine recently upgraded to a GTX 1080 Ti from a low profile GTX 1050 ti (Massive upgrade from what i've heard.) He was willing to give it to me for free. Now i have an option, Stick with my 10 liter gtx 1070 build, or use my 4 liter case for a GTX 1050 ti build. Hardest decision for me in years.

That really depends on how much you enjoy good graphics. What your considering is dropping your good gpu to a considerably worse gpu to save some space? If space is that important to you then sure why not but know you will not see the same performance on the 1050ti as the 1070.

You can get 1070 in ITX form factor for small cases btw.
