I just moved into a new city and ordered Charter Communications cable internet. I signed up for their 30mbps package and it was installed today. I verified that the connection was working before the tech left but after I was surfing around a bit, I realized the speeds were quite slow. I have run a couple of different speed tests online all showing download speeds of 30mbps and above but upload speeds are .5mbps and below.
The modem is a Surfboard SB6121 and is hooked to my computer via cat 6 cable. I won't have a wireless router until Tuesday so it is hooked up directly from modem to computer. I don't believe it could be a hardware issue with my computer or cables as I had wonderful upload and download speeds at my last house, but I could be wrong. The only thing that has changed is my location and the service provider.
I have no idea what to do. Any and all advice is appreciated... Thanks in advance!
