So I downloaded JDK which is like 150MB in like 1:30 but literally like 2 minutes after when I went to download Eclipse which is a 90MB file it gave me an estimated download time of 30mins and downloaded in around 20mins. Any Idea why this happened?

I know for a fact it cant be a virus because I downloaded both files from their respective websites not some mirrored download or anything

Like a lot of open source products, The download for eclipse is available from many mirrors. Every time you load the eclipse download page, it picks a random mirror for your main download link to evenly distribute traffic. Your second download just happened to hit a much slower slower server.

Go to this page and refresh a few times. Notice how every time the location next to the download arrow changes.
