download speed randomly slows down

hello, i'm quite new here i'm here to seek help because i really don't know what is wrong with my internet connection. i'm not that techie but i'm willing to listen to advice from experienced or techie people which is why i come to this site...

i have an average download speed of 200-250 KB/s but when i leave my gaming laptop idle or even using it ...the speed goes to a slow 500 bytes (sometimes lower) to 50KB/s this happens randomly.

i know that there is nothing wrong with my laptop so it has to be the cable or the wireless connection but my the rest of my family gets consistent download speed.

but I did notice that switching from wireless to cable brings the download speed to normal 200-250kb/s, and when it goes slow again i switch it from cable to wireless internet which speeds up again

i also tried restarting our modem but that didn't solve the random DL speed slow down

here are some specs of the
cable - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
wireless - Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

my gaming laptop is a neo elan, that brand is probably not familiar to people here because that company is based in Asian and it was manufactured in Philippines

Have a look for WMM and your brand of router. Once you find the user manual and disable WMM in the Router settings or simply have a look in your router settings and see if you can find it - probably in the wireless settings
