Hello,
I am from Australia and we just got a new Telstra internet plan. It say the speed that we should be getting is 5.82Mb/s but I am only getting 750Kb/s. This is really annoying because i am not getting what I am being told. I have done a test on speedtest.net and the download speed on there is 2Mb/s. Can someone please help me.
Thank you

Solution

download, ping, and upload speed varies depending on what you're downloading and what part of the world you're downloading/uploading from. If you run a speedtest where it looks for your nearest internet provider, the downoad/upload speed...
You never get the full amount you pay for. And 5.82mbs is real slow I get 150 and my download speed varies from what i download. for almost 6mb/s 750/kbs sounds right. you can always contact your internet provider and have them diagnose the speed at your residence. hope this helps

I understand that i will not get what i pay for but on speedtest.net with my old internet i was getting slower speeds but i was getting faster download speads. All of the downloads are taking place on steam.

download, ping, and upload speed varies depending on what you're downloading and what part of the world you're downloading/uploading from. If you run a speedtest where it looks for your nearest internet provider, the downoad/upload speed is blazing fast, but if you do a speedtest from a realistic location such as japan or france, you'll see the actual download/upload/ping you're actually getting.

Like I said, let your ISP diagnose it and tell you if your getting what you paid for. Who knows, you might find out your getting less than what you should be getting and your ISP will compensate you for your hassle.

oh, hi, didn't see you there, lol, small world I guess
