Download Windows 7 Update Without Installing Windows 10

So I opted to get my reservation of windows 10 on my pc, a month before it came out. After seeing how horrifying it was on my laptop, I decided to opt out 2 days after it was released.

Now, I want to install some updates to windows 7. As soon as I open windows update, I am greeted with a "Upgrade to Windows 10" screen, and not the old screen as before. This was frightening...

So I checked my available updates, and in the optional tab, "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" is checked. I uncheck it and check the updates I want. But just to make sure, I check for more updates. Upon returning to the optional updates tab, "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" is checked again.

Now I am paranoid because I know that Microsoft/Window sloves to bs it's users, and do not know if it would be safe to update at all.

So basically:

If I install updates to windows 7, will Win 10 get installed too regardless of me unchecking the optional update?

Is there a way to completely remove windows 10 install data, and have it so I can prevent my windows update from even knowing that Windows 10 exists?

This successfully removed the thing that appears on my taskbar, but the "Upgrade To Windows 10 Pro" optional update is still there, and the main windows update screen has the "Upgrade to Windows 10" screen.

How do I remove this? & Is there a way to prevent windows update from even knowing that Windows 10 exists?

Okay, so now my Windows Update screen is back to normal.

I have some final questions though.

1. The $Windows. ~BT folder is said to contain the install data for Win 10. Mine is about 6gb in size, so seems like this is indeed the windows 10 install data. Deleting this folder fails even with administrative permission. Is there a safe way to successfully remove this folder?

2. No matter how many times I hide it, KB3035583 keeps unhiding itself. Is there any way to permanently prevent this, or will I have to hide it every time I attempt to update?

Edit:

The Upgrade to Windows 10 screen is back, as well as the optional upgrade update. Update KB3035583 has completely disappeared from the update list though...

Okay so everything is fine for now... but I am yet to be able to delete the $winodws. ~bt folder. It doesn't appear on Disk cleanup either.
