So I opted to get my reservation of windows 10 on my pc, a month before it came out. After seeing how horrifying it was on my laptop, I decided to opt out 2 days after it was released.
Now, I want to install some updates to windows 7. As soon as I open windows update, I am greeted with a "Upgrade to Windows 10" screen, and not the old screen as before. This was frightening...
So I checked my available updates, and in the optional tab, "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" is checked. I uncheck it and check the updates I want. But just to make sure, I check for more updates. Upon returning to the optional updates tab, "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" is checked again.
Now I am paranoid because I know that Microsoft/Window sloves to bs it's users, and do not know if it would be safe to update at all.
So basically:
If I install updates to windows 7, will Win 10 get installed too regardless of me unchecking the optional update?
Is there a way to completely remove windows 10 install data, and have it so I can prevent my windows update from even knowing that Windows 10 exists?
