Hello all,

I kinda have this weird issue now (cause I Googled my issue and no one had encountered this before) where I was downloading a game on Origin and after 30 secs of download, the SSD will go to 100%, and the HDD activity LED on my casing will light up without blinking. Besides that, that SSD (together with 2 other SSDs in my system) will disappear from my Task Manager's performance tab. Once this happens, the game's download speed will drop to 0 and it just stays there.

I tried switching on the Disk Management but it just won't load. I will need to do a hard reset as normal restarting won't cut it.

Things that I have tried:
  1. Scanning the SDD using HDTune. All is good there.
  2. Swap out to a new SATA Cable
  3. Reformatting Windows 10
Here is my computer's specs:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with stock cooler
  • MOBO: Asus B450 Tomahawk
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB
  • SSD: Samsung EVO 850 256GB
Corsair 256GB
Plextor 128GB
  • HDD: WD Blue 1TB
  • Seasonic 750W Gold
Could anyone please explain why is this happening? Thank you so much

have you tried downloading to the hdd? this will let you know if it is the ssd itself or some other problem. that's where i'd start.

try the other 2 drives and see if it happens still. if not, then you know something is wrong with that ssd. everything has a warranty for a reason. problems do happen.
