Question Downloading MS Office then purchasing a legit product key?

I heard its a better and way cheaper way to get MS Office on a new build is to download a trial from Microsoft then purchase a product key from a legit source rather than as an add-on from the computer supplier or PC world in the UK.

Know about this or can you advise so looking for a legit not torrent cheaper method or getting MS Office?

Yes, what you propose is possible. However, using grey market sites to purchase product keys is not without risk. Those sites often sell bad keys (keeping it simple) that may require purchasing another key. Some of these sites also sell/provide "insurance" against such instances.

Many (including me) do not recommend these sites.

There are free alternatives to MS Office, like Libre Office and OpenOffice.
