I'm setting up a second hand laptop for my mum. The problem is, the person who had it before for some insane reason uninstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, unactivated. I have the OEM key for Home Premium but can't find anywhere to download the ISO. The official Microsoft recovery site only accepts retail keys, and the old Digital River site to download ISOs isn't around any more.

Where can I get an ISO for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit? Thanks for any help.

I might just find one on a torrent site then. Is there a big risk of infection with ISOs from 'dodgy' sites?

HUGE risk.

The actual issue is....whoever sold you the laptop did NOT also transfer the OS to you.
Yes, whatever is on there may sort of work, but that was not a valid transfer.

Your options:
1. Contact the manufacturer and obtain whatever factory reset disks they have
2. Buy your own OS.

But currently, you do not have a valid OS. Nor, unfortunately, can you obtain one outside of options 1 & 2 above.
