Quick question, why is my internet speed capped everywhere? I get 10mb/s downloading speed on steam and when I'm downloading games anywhere else my speed caps on 1.6mb/s
Any ideas why this is happening? It gets very frustrating sometimes, when rockstar games launcher wasn't a thing I could download GTA V in like 3 hours, now on the launcher it gets capped at 1.6mb/s like anywhere else and I need to wait 16 hours to download one game, that's a bit ridiculous

Your download speed also depends on their upload speed.

10 megabit is approximately 1.25 megabytes / second. A 1.6MB/s download would be good performance for a 10Mb connection.

I have about 80Mb connection tho? I can download the same sized games on steam in a matter of a few hours, but on the rockstar launcher I need to wait 16 hours since my downloading speed is getting capped, thats what my problem is. I checked the downloading speed using internet from my phone by USB tethering and the speed got higher, so there has to be a problem with my internet, is there any way I can fix it? Because like I mentioned I on steam I get 7x the speed of ehat im getting in the rockstar launcher

Many different things are affecting it. Steam compresses their data, and sometimes its fast, others its slow. Other game sites might use the same standard. Using steam as a standard is not going to be accurate.

Go to a speedtest sight like www.speedtest.net and test your speeds. That is your first and best way of measuring.
