Question DP 1.2 To 1.4

Hello, i'll be quick

I'm buying video card with DP 1.4 and my monitor has 1.2 can

Can i connect them both with 1.2 cable?
and will i get 1080@144 that i used to have?

which monitor do you use?

if it worked before with a different video card, it will work with your new one

Always they are backwards compatible.
If the monitor is rated @144 then a 1.2 cable is what is needed to get the 144hz working.
